There are trailer hitches rated above 5,000lbs that you can have installed on your 2015 Jayco Greyhawk 31DS, but they all are going to require welding to get that additional capacity.
While I know you were hoping for a bolt on receiver, you'll need to go with one such as the Buyers Products # 3371801050 and have a certified welder weld it on for you. Keep in mind that even though this hitch has a 16,000lb trailer weight rating that doesn't mean your motorhome does. You'll need to reach... view full answer...
The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 has a range of 50 feet although this does depend on how well your phone receives bluetooth signals. We tested this with the usual newer mobile devices and found no issues with it at that range.
Now, if you do lose connection, the controller will still work and operate based on the settings given at the last connection. You just won't have the panic/emergency brake override button until your mobile phone reconnects. With the distance... view full answer...
The base plate kits for your 2017 Chevrolet Equinox that we offer don't require you to cut any holes in the bumper so no worries here. If you take a look at the attached photo you will see how the arms are able to protrude through without cutting. They use an opening already present opening on the vehicle. In regards to a supplemental braking system, they will not have any adverse effect on the vehicle's physical braking components (rotors, pads, calipers etc.).
When it comes to the installation... view full answer...
